Thank you, Nan, for bringing this forum post to our attention. It appears as though they have decided that Surf Canyon v3.0.4 was the culprit, however, we've been unable to reproduce the issue here. If you are able to produce the error then we'd greatly appreciate it if you could give us a hand as we would love an opportunity to investigate.

Mark Cramer replied on February 09, 2010 18:30 to the question "delete surf canyon on tool bar" in Surf Canyon:
Hello Shaun - Thank you for trying our application and for contacting us. I'm assuming that you followed the uninstall instructions at http://www.surfcanyon.com/faq.jsp#q4 and http://www.surfcanyon.com/faq.jsp#q4a. (Please read both.) You might be experiencing http://www.surfcanyon.com/faq.jsp#q3:
Q: When I try to uninstall the extension on Firefox, why is it still there after I restart Firefox?
A: If after closing and then restarting Firefox you see that Surf Canyon is still present in the Add-ons menu, it's possible that Firefox was re-opened before it had an opportunity to completely shut down. Even after the Firefox window disappears, it sometimes takes a while for the background process to complete its shutdown procedure and remove itself from memory. So close Firefox and then wait a minute before opening it again.
If this doesn't work, please contact us using http://www.surfcanyon.com/contact.jsp and we'll help you work through this.

Hello Bob - Apologies for the inconvenience, but if the software is uninstalled you should not be seeing those messages.
Would you mind following the instructions at http://www.surfcanyon.com/faq.jsp#q4? If you're using Firefox it should be as simple as opening Firefox and "uninstalling" Surf Canyon from Tools-->Add-ons.
We're here to help, so if you're still having issues, please contact us using http://www.surfcanyon.com/contact.jsp and we'll get it taken care of for you.
Sincerely,
Mark

Hello Bob - In the message above I meant to say, obviously, set the year to "2010." Apologies for any confusion. Oddly enough, that's sometimes how these certificate problems appear in the first place. If you're still having issues, please contact us using http://www.surfcanyon.com/contact.jsp. Also, if you could give us your operating system and what browser you're using, that would be helpful, too. Thank you again for your assistance!

Thank you, Roger, for your feedback! We really appreciate you taking the time to send us this information. We've identified the probable cause and have implemented a likely solution.
