Toni Miller replied on March 12, 2010 17:19 to the problem "New Yoono is Crashing Firefox" in Yoono:
My Flash is 10.0.45.2 - the most recent version - and my Yoono has crashed Firefox twice just this morning.
It had gotten much better after I deleted Facebook and Twitter from Yoono, and added them back in again. Everything seemed to be fixed after I did that (the problem with Firefox crashing, the missing FB profile picture, the slow refresh times). It's been a little over a week I guess, and the Firefox crashing issue has just started back up again in the last day or two.
At least for me, Flash is not the issue.

Update:
I was about to give up on Yoono today. My sloooooow refresh problem had gotten so bad that I had started going directly to facebook.com and twitter.com, which completely defeated the purpose of using Yoono. It was taking literally 10 minutes just to get it to "show more updates" at the bottom of a long list.
It was also crashing Firefox multiple times a day. It had gotten completely out of control and had become unusable.
In a last ditch attempt to keep the add-on I enjoyed so much previously, I did two things.
1) Installed the updated version from yoono.com (which, after installation, told me it was an experimental version?? That should probably be explained before installation, not after....)
That did not fix the problem at all, in fact it seemed to make it worse.
2) Seconds before uninstalling Yoono altogether, I decided to remove both my FB and my Twitter accounts from Yoono, and then put them back and start fresh.
So far.... I'm optimistic. It's been almost 3 hours since I did this, and Yoono is now flying fast.
I don't *need* to click "show more updates" at the bottom of a long list anymore because it will automatically display them when I scroll to the bottom.
It is not taking an exorbitant amount of time to refresh or remove updates.
And, bonus, it is displaying my FB profile picture again, which it hasn't done for months now.
Also, Firefox hasn't crashed yet, and seems to be using much less memory and processor now.
So maybe this feedback will help Yoono figure out what happened, or help someone else having the same problem. If things degrade again I will let you know, but so far this is the best Yoono experience I've had since I upgraded to 7.1.

The uninstall/reinstall didn't appear to help.
After clearing the initial set of updates, I went about with my work, and 15 minutes later have 2 new updates. I have now been sitting and watching Yoono say "Refreshing" at the bottom of the screen, and the rotating refresh indicators on the F and T cycling for about a minute and a half.
Just this second the updates appeared. I'd say close to two minutes total.

Now that you've said that, I do remember now that I was running 7.0.x (no multi-columns) with success. I remember this because that release fixed a previous problem I was having with Facebook Mobile posts not showing up on Yoono in the 6.x version. That had slipped my mind until now, sorry.
And no, I did not uninstall the beta before I went back to the previous version. I installed the beta with the multi-columns from the beta links I saw posted, and when I didn't care for it I just re-installed the last official release from yoono.com.
That might explain also why I have no FB profile picture in Yoono?
I will go ahead and uninstall/reinstall and see if that corrects the problem. I'll let you know. Thanks for the help!

No problem with questions - anything I can do to help fix the problem is fine with me :)
The last release I used was the one that did NOT have the multi-column views. I had tried the beta version of the columns-release and found it too buggy (missing trash cans, etc.) and went back to the previous version. So this current version is an upgrade from whichever did not have the columns, which I assume was 6.*?
Debugging level is indeed 2.
Thanks!

Reivax, I saw a reply from you in my email but can't find it here in the thread, LOL. Odd. Anyway, I am not using the chat services, so no issue there - for me, the deadly slow refresh is happening a couple of places:
* When telling Yoono to Remove All From This List (after I've read messages and want to delete them, I assume Yoono is refreshing)
* When I get to the bottom of a page of updates and need to Show More Updates (I'm assuming this is also a refreshing)
* When it won't mark messages in a long list as read, and I try to go to All Unread Messages to do it myself
All of these are times when, I think, Yoono is refreshing itself to perform whatever action I've asked it to do. That's when it will take sometimes 2-10 minutes to complete. Often during this time, I can't click elsewhere in my browser and when I check my Task Manager, I'm using 100% of my processor until Yoono finishes, when it will drop back down to its typical 10% - 12%.
Thanks.

Sure, it's a four-year old Toshiba Satellite notebook running Win XP Pro Service Pack 3 with a 1.73 GHz processor, and 1 GB RAM. I've got high-speed internet through cable modem and I'm using Firefox 3.5.8 with Yoono 7.1 (browser version). The slow refresh time started with the upgrade to 7.1.
Thanks.

So I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused, but is there a fix to the slooooooooooooow refresh time that is available for download?
Right now, if I tell Yoono to clear all from this list, or to go to only unread updates, it takes forEVER - sometimes up to 10 minutes, more often 2 - 5 minutes, and it takes control of my browser and uses 100% of my resources. This only started when I updated to Yoono 7.1.
If there is a fix, please link me to it!

Toni Miller replied on February 23, 2010 00:23 to the problem "New Yoono is Crashing Firefox" in Yoono:
Quick update.
I cannot say for sure that Yoono is causing the problem, but I'm highly suspicious. I did update my Flash today.
I have several Firefox profiles (for different gmail addresses) but Yoono is only installed on one of them. That profile is the only one that has crashed today.
There seem to be other issues as well, such as Facebook not updating for hours, and then suddenly updating with 60 new updates at once (spanning the hours it was not updating). That's just FYI, not really related to this issue, except that it's been my observation that Firefox is crashing when I have more than 100 total Yoono updates. That's not verified, just observation.

Toni Miller reported a problem in Yoono on February 22, 2010 17:53:
New Yoono is Crashing FirefoxEver since I upgraded to the latest version of Yoono, it is crashing my Firefox browser. This seems to happen typically when I have over 100 updates between my various services. Where can I roll back to the last version until this is fixed?
Toni Miller replied on February 08, 2010 19:04 to the question "How do I get the "x" back to remove the feed after it's read in twitter?" in Yoono:
Just an observation - having the trash can icon at the bottom of the update is really distracting and not very functional. What ends up happening is one of two things:
1) When there is a long update, or many comments in an update, you have to scroll to the bottom of all that to get to the trash can icon; then once you click it off, all the updates below that one shift up, so you have to scroll back up to read them. Too much scrolling and skipping around.
2) When you are reading in single-column view, and it is the last update at the bottom of the list, the trash can icon becomes obstructed by the up/down arrows of the scroll bar. You need to expand the window or move to multi-column view just to click the trash can icon.
So my suggestion, in addition to the bug fix, is to move the X (or trash can if that's how you're going) back to the top of the update instead of to the bottom. It will be much more functional to users that way.
Toni Miller replied on February 08, 2010 17:05 to the question "Yoono missing some FB updates" in Yoono:
The more I look at it this morning, the more I suspect it's a dual issue - the same one I originally reported in this thread, but the worsening of it is, I think, on Facebook's side.
Not only is Facebook having issues displaying updates in general (I often have to refresh my Live Feed several times to see current updates) but I'm also noticing that Yoono is occasionally picking up updates that do not display on Facebook!
From this morning, here is an example of both situations. The first shows Yoono not displaying an update that FB displays. The second shows FB not displaying an update that Yoono displays.
Maybe once FB is done rolling out their new home page design, some of this will go away on their side.
