When I tried to log in to Facebook for the first time clicking on the Yoono prompt to open Facebook via my browser window (I'm using Firefox 3.5), I get to a page with the following message:
"This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to www.facebook.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified."
However, if I try to connect to Facebook normally (just typing the address), it opens normally.
What should I do?
-
I've never received that error and I'm using Firefox 3.5 with the latest version of Yoono.
I have tried it logged in or logged out of Facebook as well. This is a very odd message and if you are able to take a screnshot, you can upload it to this board directly. That would be very helpful. -

Hello Nezima. This shouldn't be happening so could you confirm that you're running the latest version of Firefox and Yoono?

I had tht very same problem BUT I dun think its a Yoono problem but rather the site Yoono is trying to connect to is the one with the problem. Mine was security cert thingy which was indentified as the "wrong" site and I was adviced against accepting tht cert. Since the site Yoono was trying to connect to was Facebook and apparently it was under attack of late, so I just accepted the "new" cert and hell yeah it works fine now. My other friends with tht very same problem has also resolved theirs. Well its good to know tht Yoono is not the culprit for tht error cuz I love using Yoono and hate to find serious problems like tht.

Hi M.A.K. , we have a test version of Yoono that we believe fixes this problem - please email ajackson at yoono dot com if you'd be willing to help us test out the fix and we'll send you the test build.

I've found an answer everyone!! The same thing happened to me like 30 minutes ago...it's the first time I've ever seen the message. But do you see the part where it says something like "This certificate will be valid on (some random date)" ?? Well for some reason lately, my computer's clock keeps resetting itself, and when I highlighted mine, it turned out that it was on april 28, 2009 instead of august. So I just changed the date and time back to normal and then everything worked out fine. Hope it works for everyone!!

I have no problems using Yoono firefox. Then i decided to try Yoono desktop. After installing, I log in but theres a problem with connecting to facebook. It keeps on saying this:
Secure Connection Failed
www.facebook.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for a248.e.akamai.net
(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)
one thing i did try is to click on 'open in browser' and there i need to login to my fb account..Then it says 'you may close this window and return to the application' . I thought problem solved, but nothing happpen.
How can I solve this and get my fb connected?
i am using the latest firefox and windows xp.

Hi, I also have the very same problem.
yesterday I downloaded and installed Yoono desktop on my iMac and everything was fine, facebook too.
This morning I started yoono and everything was fine but facebook.
The error message is the one you can see in attached image.
And I can't add an exception like I can do in Firefox...

Hi Maurizio,
This seems to be a Facebook issue, some of their servers having inappropriate certificates.
Sorry for this issue. Next Yoono release will no longer use https to authenticate to Facebook, witch is a shame, but they give us little choice (and less hope).
Thanks for your patience. -
-
Great...
I love facebook, I see they are so good at privacy and security things during these last months ;-)
Never mind, I will wait for next yoono. Now I can go to facebook website via a Google search inside yoono browser and then login from there.
By the way, have you any plan to add an address bar to the browser inside yoono? It would be useful, not only in cases like this.
Thanks -
-
I am also facing the same issue with Yoono Desktop 1.7.1.
While trying to add facebook account it gives the "Untrusted certificate" error, just like maurizio.piacenza.
Since, I dont have firefox installed, I dont know how I add an exception (Good to state that my firefox has crashed with an "Invalid MOZCRT.dll image" error. Inspite of multiple clean re-installs I could not run it. So uninstalled it completely. Then to use Yoono, I had to install the desktop app version)
I must say here that I love Yoono better than any firefox plugin I have ever seen and used. Since, I couldnot use firefox, I am using the desktop version of Yoono. Thanks Yoono team, that you had one!
Please tell me how do I add my firefox account to Yoono desktop.
Additionally, I would have loved to have an address bar in the Yoono desktop's in-built browser. And I would have loved integration with MyhSpace Music. (Earlier Imeem worked with Yoono. But, since Imeem has been bought and integrated by MySpace, I don't how do I add my Imeem or now MySpace Music to Yoono!)
Please help! I love you Yoono, and would always wait eagerly for new features and improvements to it :P

Hi all,
Give me a minute and I'll come up with a patch that you'll have to hack into Yoono Desktop so that you won't have to wait until the next release... -
-
Hi Reivax!
Its so nice and amazing that you guys are on the constant watch to redress our (we who use Yoono) problems. I am eager to get the patch from you.. :)
Thanks a lot in Advance

Hi again (and thanks),
Okay, here is what you can do. It'll be fun, be ready.
1 - Exit Yoono Desktop. Beware, it must really be terminated, not just minimized in tray...
2 - Open a File Explorer and go to this directory (I'll assume you are using Windows. If you are not, I assume you'll find out where to look. If you don't, let me know) :
C:\Program Files\Yoono Desktop\extensions\{d9284e50-81fc-11da-a72b-0800200c9a66}\chrome\m\yoono.com
3 - Replace the sidebar.jar file with the one you can download here :
http://cdn.yoono.com/debug/sidebar.jar
4 - Let me know (might need some adjustment, can't be sure since I don't have the issue). -
-
Great, great, great!
Thanks a lot Reivax.
I've just replaced the sidebar.jar file on my iMac and now everything is working fine. -

Certificate Problem on Facebook?.-
Hi Jery
That's a Facebook issue we were notified about a few days ago.
We'll publish a fix, but in the meantime you can find a work around a bit higher in this current topic.
Or click here to access it:

Tried to change the date of my laptop, to no avail. Tried to import the certificate, the problem persists. I just have to wait for the fix to be published . . .
FYI, I got my Facebook profile on the yoono extension on my FireFox, no problem. Maybe it's because I already have it since long before this current problem occurs? -

HERE IS THE SOLUTION!!! I also had this problem and tried clearing the cache, accepting the certificates, restarting the computer, checking the date and time settings etc. etc....My date and time settings were correct as always and didn't need changing. The ONLY fix for this was flushing the DNS Cache. To do this you must first go to the command prompt. If you are unsure how to do this please follow the instructions listed.
1. Click Start
2. Type into your search bar if you are on Vista / Windows 7 the command "cmd" then press enter.
3. It will bring open a black window. To flush your DNS, type "ipconfig /flushdns" (make sure there is a space between the "g" and the "/" )
For Windows XP Users, follow the instructions listed below.
1. Click Start.
2. Click Run.
3. Type "Cmd" or "Command" and press enter.
4. It will bring open a black window, To flush your DNS, type "ipconfig /flushdns" (make sure there is a space between the "g" and the "/" )
NOW YOU CAN LOG IN WITH NO PROBLEMS....now, I will take a BIG HUGE BOW ;-) -

Hey guys
I had the same problem, and no issue with the system clock.
The problem concerns facebook certificates, and only happens when the secure connection (https) is used on Firefox. I read many forums but no one could solve the problem, then I tried by myself this very simple way:
1. when the "connection untrusted" page appears, copy the url (should be https://www.new.facebook.com/php
2. In Firefox go to Preferences/advanced
3. In the Encryption tab, click View certificates
4. In the Servers tab, click "Add exception" and paste the url you copied. Click ok
5. Close the preferences and Firefox
This way I completely solved the problem, and I'm no computer geek anyway!
Hope it helps everyone

Hi, thanks a lot for this tip that could help other users.
Can you please display this page in your browser on the computer on which you had the issue :
http://cdn.yoono.com/debug/info.html
And copy passe here the displayed text
I would like to check something, thanks ! -
-
Sure, here's what appears on screen:
Brand: yoono
Release: 7.7.1
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.2.25) Gecko/20111212 Firefox/3.6.25
Current TimeStamp: 1326147490504
Waiting for external time reference...
External reference couldn't be reached.
Please try this external web site to check your computer date, time, Daylight Saving Time and timezone settings.
If it says your clock is more than about 200 seconds slow or fast, one of these parameters is incorect and needs to be fixed.
What is it for exactly? Hope it helps!
Virginio -
-
Thanks.
It very much looks like your computer clock setting is not accurate.
Can you check this page for what it says about your clock:
http://vancouver-webpages.com/time/
Wrong clock settings may invalidate HTTPS certificates.
They can be wrong in either the clock itself, the timezone, or the daylight saving time flag.
Let let know, thanks. -
-
Hi
I went to the page you suggested, but it looks like everything is ok, here's the displayed message:
The time was Tue, 10 Jan 2012 09:31:49 GMT when the page loaded.
Your local time was Tue Jan 10 10:31:49 2012
Your clock is correct, ignoring network delay.
What do you think?
v -
-
oh ok I got it.
Your previous message in which you copied the first batch of data appears (here) to be dated January 09 22h20 (when hovering the "X hours ago" message)
But it looks like these messages are 1 hour off...
That's probably a bug on this support website :(
Which is why I thought your computer was off.
Ok then thanks for your tip, still :) -

Bonjour,
