Can I use Yoono with Google Chrome?
Wondering if Yoono is compatible with Google Chrome? If not, is it in the works? Thanks!

In the interim we have launched a standalone desktop app for Mac and Windows - you can get it at our website http://www.yoono.com

Hey Stephanie -
Good question. We currently only support Firefox and Internet Explorer but plan to eventually support other browsers such as Google Chrome (they are just starting to put their plan/tools in place to support add-ons by the way) and Safari. I can't give you an exact date unfortunately at this point. Thanks for your interest in Yoono though!

I would also like to see you guys add Linux as an OS platform for Yoono on Google Chrome.

I reckon you've got the drift by now - the desktop option might be worthwhile!

Hi there. I merged your topic with this. We don't have an estimated time frame for Chrome or any announcements at this time regarding a version for Chrome.

here's a question, I'm using the desktop version with Google chrome, but i miss being able to easily share pages/items with my friends, what's the easiest way to share to twitter and Facebook, using the desktop client. keep in mind I'm originating the link, not re-sharing a link sent to me by someone else

Thanks for the follow up. The Yoono Add-On for Firefox is great for sharing but we don't offer the same features in the desktop version simply because we can't mimick the same features since it's not a part of the browser.
I have no ETA on a version for Chrome. Thanks for your patience. -

Thanks Adrian. I don't have a comment at this time but you can always use Yoono Desktop for Mac or PC right alongside Chrome.

I have a huge predicament. The latest version of Yoono is perfect-- the best browser app out there. However, Google Chrome is establishing itself as the best browser.
I still use Firefox most of the time, but I find myself opening Chrome more and more. I hope you all are thinking about creating Yoono for Chrome soon. That would make me a very happy camper.

Me too. I'm using Chrome now all the time and it would be great except for the fact i'm missing my Yoono. Would love to leave my Firefox behind forever.

I have to agree with John and Louie - I'm using Chrome now about 90% of the time and have to open Firefox to use my Yoono. Firefox is slow compared to Chrome - I have a bazillion tabs open (researching some stuff) and still haven't crashed and it hasn't slowed my machine to a halt, like FFX does. Look forward to the day when Yoono can be used in Chrome.

I'd like to know why the hatred for FF? I open over 15 tabs at a time, QUICKLY. between game apps google search, ebay, all while responding to FB updates, WLM, multiple acct's on FB and myspace, All with little speed reduction. AND my comp isn't the fastest or stacked w/RAM.

Alpha release is looking good. But, I didn't like Chrome resizing its window to screen size when Yoono is launched. Hope you gonna integrate in the browser in future releases.

You can have the sidebar in the browser by clicking the top left button in the sidebar. however, it can't work like a Firefox sidebar, it's in a tab, so you can't have it displayed, and browse the web at the same time.

Looks good, I see that opens up in new window, can you make it to open up inside, like the bit.ly extension?

Hope you were able to try it. As you suggested, we included a button to be able to embed the sidebar in a tab. Let us know what you think .

We can (we used to do it) but then when you switch tab, you lose it.
And we can't reopen it in each tab, that would really slow down everything, our layout is way more complex than other add-ons.
Also, you open tabs from yoono, you share stuff from tabs, etc etc. -
-
Maybe have a setting with it. I would like to open up like the bit.ly extension.
For instance my Yahoo Mail tab is always open, mostly pinned too. And If I use that tab for Yonoo too, I am happy. So I would like to have a setting to open up inside or open in new window. -
-
i have to disagree with Marton as i'd like it to work as it does on FF where it's separate from the tabs so you can view it now matter what tab you're looking at. I think what you're doing looks great!
Thanks for letting us know that help is on the way.
BTW: i've been using the downloadable app in lieu of the extension and am enjoying it. The one negative is that i often forget to open it -

Thanks for all the feedback !
There is still much room for tweaking, it's not even a public beta release yet! -

Well done guys. This is really helpful.
Just keep in mind that number of chrome users are increasing and a chrome add-on would be sold off the shelves in minutes. Probably there is a project going on for chrome because you guys know your stuff but this is my sincere effort to add in to the number of chrome add-on requests :)

Here's another "thanks for your work, can't wait for it to get to Chrome... I miss having it"

also, you should create an email notification list for when its available.

Thanks for this suggestion.
Stay tuned on our blog or twitter account @yoono -

popap does not show that option does not work yoono popap. Facebook chat is also part of the yoono or can be integrated? It would be really nice if you like messenger facebook.
-
-
hi,
We'll try to add Facebook chat in a future release. It was not possible until recently because Facebook did not allow third party chat integration, but now they do.
As for the popup settings, a few bugs were reported and will be fixed in the next release, thanks -
