Cannot see the Firefox sidebar
Installed the latest version of Yoono - 6.0.0 in Firefox (3.0.10) Restarted the browser and accepted the privacy policy. I can see the Yoono icon next to the address bar. But clicking it does not open the sidebar. Something missing?

Inappropriate?Hello Blade. I'm terribly sorry that you're experiencing issues with opening the sidebar.
This generally has to do with a Firefox Theme. Would you mind telling me which theme you currently have activated within Firefox?
We have added a few theme downloads to our HELP page for those users who have themes installed that cause this issue.
http://yoono.com/help.html
I’m confident
-
I have not installed any theme -
Inappropriate? So assuming you're using the "default" Firefox theme, there is an additional option we can try.
In Firefox, find the "View" menu at the top of the window. From there, you'll see a section called "Sidebar" and within that, is an option for "Yoono"
Click Yoono and the sidebar should appear.
I’m happy

I tried selecting the Yoono sidebar menu item, but it does not show up. Maybe I have a problematic theme though. -
Thank you for this information! Without this post, I'm not sure that I would have ever been able to figure this out. Suggestion - a pop-up window when someone selects "close sidebar" that explains how to get it back. -
Inappropriate?I have the Chromifox theme, and I can't view the sidebar using the "View" menu OR by clicking the icon. I uninstalled and then reinstalled, but that didn't help either.
I’m well
-
Heather, Chromifox is supported by Yoono with no modifications needed.
I'm actually not sure what other option I have. Can you possibly facilitate a screen grab of FireFox to help us diagnose the issue? -
Inappropriate?Let me check on this and get back to you

Inappropriate?I don't see the sidebar after i've installed Yoono. Where should I get it?

Where is it?!.

Inappropriate?Same problem here. Also, I notice there's another window "Yoono - Terms of Use" open in my taskbar, but I cannot for the life of me get it to show or be visible. WTF.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I have the default theme, and have tried clicking on view/sidebar/yoono, but no sidebar appears. Using Yoono 6.1.0 with Firefox 3.5
I’m confused
-
FIXED: After posting this, I tried it on a different machine running linux - everything worked using Yoono 6.1.0 and Firefox 3.5. One thing different: there was a "terms of use" box that hadn't appeared on my Windows box. I shut down Windows, rebooted it, and went back into Firefox. THIS time the "terms of use" box appeared, and after I clicked accept, the sidebar appeared. So the problem isn't with the sidebar, but with the "terms of use" not appearing initially. -
i dun get the "terms of use" anywhere. any guides? -
I clicked the terms of use box twice each of the two times I installed. -
Carlos. From the FireFox "Tools" Menu, click "Add-Ons" and switch to the tab called "Themes"
Click on Default and activate that theme. It will prompt you to restart Firefox and this should resolve your issue but let me know if it doesn't. -
Inappropriate?this does not help at all. im going berserk. help!!! I can use it on another computer with no problem but it does not work on my comp. the logo does not show on any part of my firefox except under add-ons. when i go view, it did not reflect that i have yoona. i have installed and uninstall firefox twice. pls help me. Im going bonkers already
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Try minimizing the main Firefox window when you expect to see the Yoono "terms of use". That one may be popping up BEHIND the Firefox window - I've seen that behaviour happen with other packages, and believe it may be what happened when I tried installing Yoono on one of my machines.
-
Inappropriate?Thank you everyone for offering your feedback on this. I'm going to work to resolve this issue and get a better resolution for you.

Inappropriate?I have Internet Explorer 8 and I have no trouble getting the sidebar up but once on the first page "New User/ I Already Have An Account" and I click on New User there's then no button to progress onto what I assume would be a page to enter my details & obtain a username?!? I did see an answer about registering on ur setup page so i uninstalled reinstalled etc but there was no register button on any of the setup pages :(
please help otherwise there'll be no Yoono for me..

I’m silly
-
Thanks Amy. If others have this problem, I'll suggest this. -
Inappropriate?I too cannot see the side bar. I am using the default firefox theme. No Skype either Please help!

Hi Gina,
do you see a Yoono icon next to your address bar? Clicking on this should trigger the sidebar on and off.
If this does not work, it could be a conflict with another add-on or another software. It would help if you could:
1) give me a list of all the add-ons you have installed
2) tell me if you are running a security software (Micro Trends, Norton, etc..)
Thanks a lot -
Inappropriate?I can't see the sidebar either. I can see the icon next to my address bar and under the 'sidebar' option in the drop-down menu under 'view', but neither of those opens the sidebar. I don't have any themes installed and the only other add-ons I'm using are visualize.us, ChaCha and DownThemAll.
I’m sad
-
Just to be sure, are you using a security software such as Micro Trend or Norton or any other? -
Nope, nothing. -
Inappropriate? Also having this problem. I have the default Firefox theme and I have clicked the Yoono logo and went into View > Sidebar > Yoono and neither times did it pop up. I also have accepted the terms of usage so I'm not quite sure what the problem is. Oh & I have AVG Internet Security so could that be the issue?
I’m anxious to get this cool add-on working.
-
Inappropriate?I have this same problem 7 MONTHS LATER!! I would have figured it would be resolved by now. Leaves me little hope of using this extension. Now for clarification, I have the following:
Problem: I don't see Yoono ANYWHERE! It does not show up in the browser, OR in the View | Sidebar menu, only in the Add-ons listings.
I do not get a windows asking me to agree to anything.
Using:
--------
Windows 7(x64), Firefox 3.5.8. Norton Security.
Default Theme
NoScript has been disabled temporarily (still no luck).
Skype Plug-in was already disabled.
PLEASE help!
I’m Frustrated and totally disappointed

Inappropriate?Well, we sure can't fix what we can't reproduce...
I guess the only thing that would help would be to follow these steps :
http://support.yoono.com/yoono/topics...
We then will get information that should be helpful to solve this issue.
Thanks for your understanding and patience.

Inappropriate?I'll try that in a bit, but first, I realize that perhaps your software is running using Flash, and since I also have the BetterPrivacy plug-in, that may be the cause of the problem. Does Yoono need to store Flash cookies?

Inappropriate? No, BetterPrivacy is not the problem.
Could you list the add-ons you are using ? Some incompatibilities were reported before (and fixed).
To get a full list, open the about:yoono page, and click on Support Information.
Copy paste the alert content
Thanks for your help

Inappropriate? Also I have many of the Microsoft plug-ins disabled or uninstalled. For example .NET (though showing in the list I just sent) is not installed. NOt sure what frameworks you are using, if I know it would help.

Xul cache seems rather suspicious... Do you remembed where you downloaded it from ?
Could you try disabling it ? thanks

Inappropriate?Removed the XUL Cache extension and it solved the problem. Upon further Net research, it seems that the problem could probably have been solved as easily by deleting the XUL.mfl cache file in the Mozilla profile directory on my computer.
