Can't Connect to Twitter
I added the Yoono plugin for Firefox and it won't connect to Twitter (doesn't show up on the Twitter Connections page either). I was able to connect to Facebook, but obviously not for Twitter. I have tried restarting and rebooting all to no avail.

Inappropriate? Thanks for the added details. Yes Yoono should show up on the connections area of Twitter
http://twitter.com/account/connections
With that said, my only solutions to ask that you remove Twitter from Yoono and re-add letting me know exactly what happens so I can assist you.
-
new install on desktop, works fine on laptop, twitter or myspace wont authorize, but aim and facebook do -
Inappropriate?Just tried that and unfortunately it didn't work. I am getting the following message:
"The server is not responding. Please try again later"
The message is in the Yoono side bar. -
Inappropriate? We've just learned that this is an issue with Twitter. I'll keep this thread updated but you can also see updates at http://twitter.com/yoono
-
Inappropriate?I was psyched that with the last update Twitter started working and everything was good once again...until I updated today to 6.1.1. Now It will connect for a minute or two and then I get the "Unable to Connect to Twitter. Your Twitter session has expired . To try to reconnect now , click Retry. I click retry, it asks me to authenticate again, and then tells me I can now use Twitter. I am going to try the whole uninstall thing again and see if I can't get it to work that way
-
Robert. we had issues with Twitter last night that have been resolved. There's a chance your issue has been fixed now. -
Inappropriate?Unfortunately, it still isn't working for me. I get the following error:
"The server is not responding. Please try again later."
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Seems to be working fine today. Haven't had any trouble with it connecting.
-
Inappropriate?I just uninstalled from Firefox and reinstalled and it still is not working... How very odd.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?i'm just having an issue with connecting to facebook myspace and twitter. it is really frustrating.

I’m extremely frustrated.

Inappropriate?Same problem here....
-
Inappropriate?I thought it might have something to do with the PowerTwitter addon in firefox. I removed it. Still no luck.
I’m slightly frustrated
-
Hi there. So what issues are you having? Even after removing powertwitter what problems are occurring. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Hey Thanks for the follow up
After having given up on it, I just went and tried it again so I could describe the problem to you, and it worked! Not sure what fixed it, but it looks fixed. The original problem was that it would try to connect with Twitter and it would just sit there and try until it timed out. It could never make the connection. Now that it's fixed, I can see how it was supposed to work: Pull up twitter in a tab and prompt me to allow the application to connect. This didn't happen before.
I’m Satisfied
-
Hi there. Well, to be honest, Yoono is connecting to Twitter (and other services) so if they're having hiccups then Yoono will as well. We try our best to pinpoint all issues but most cases it's the service that's having downtime and not Yoono.
I'm glad it's working now. Just let me know if you encounter issues down the road. -
Inappropriate?No problem. thanks again.
-
Glad to hear! -
Inappropriate? This message appeared to me all this weekend"The server is not responding. Please try again later" is it an yoono problem or it's only twitter interface bug?
-
Twitter had some serious downtime this weekend. most of our team members saw this and even today Twitter is still having connection issues. -
Hi Roger. How can I help. What version of Yoono are you using? -
Same error.. Using the latest version of yoono -
Hi. I can try to help -
This is also the error i have been getting with all the latest release (7 and up) Even 7.1.2 beta 1 has this problem here. Tried on several internet connections also. -
Can you check your computer clock ? a 10mn offset can break authentication. Let me know -
Clock is autosynched with a online time server at home (tried it there) and at work (here) i don't have any rights to adjust it. But looks fine, 10:09 GMT+1 now -
What version do you recommend? 7.0.6, 7.1 of 7.1.2 beta 1? -
7.1.2 available on www.yoono.com
Is it possible that previously you went from a given yoono release to an older release ? This might break the database upgrade system.
Could you follow the steps explained in the first message of this thread : http://support.yoono.com/yoono/topics...
Try adding twitter before finishing the procedure, this will send us valuable debug information about the problem. thanks! -

Although I appreciate your reply, I'm going to remove it. Before you get upset with me and claim "censorship" let me be clear.
You had issues 3 months ago when our current version was version 6.2. Since then, we've had 5+ releases / updates of our application, adopted new Facebook API authentications, added LinkedIN and modified the connection to Twitter's API as well. We've added lists, groups, multiple account support and refined our desktop app to compete with echofon and other existing desktop applications. We've also maintained cross-platform status in a more reliable way than most Twitter apps.
With all of that said, I ask that you please revisit Yoono and give it another shot before coming to our forums saying that Yoono is still broken and claiming echofon is a better product. I respect your opinion but it's misleading and that's why I'm removing it.
Enjoy using Echofon and have a great 2010. -
Inappropriate?Adam
I have been trying for three months to make Yoono work. I've downloaded every new version and they continue to fail to connect to Facebook. The problem as stated was that it would not connect to twitter (or facebook). This problem is not resolved for me so I don't see how LinkedIn, listst, groups, multiple accts etc helps me.
I understand that you don't want people to hear about another program that rivals Yoono which seems to have no problems. -
Okay. Well, I never gave up on you and I'm always willing to keep helping you out if you want. -
Inappropriate?I'm not sure how you can help. Take a crack at it if you want. Basically, facebook fails to connect. I had this problem right at the beginning and it eventually resolved itself. Then a couple months ago, the problem resurfaced and didn't go away, even after I reinstalled the newest version a few times
-
I outlined steps in this thread and will fix the issue. If it doesn't work, you can send in your debug log so I can see exactly what point it's failing. At that point, it is network related and our hands are tied.

Inappropriate? You must have released another version pretty recently. It's newer than the last version I installed (about a month ago). I'll give it a try.
-
Installed it the way I've always done. Facebook and Twitter show my friends when I go to that tab, but no updates, exactly as before, except this time Twitter's not working either. Might be something with the setup, but I've done this a bunch of times now and until a couple months ago, it was working fine. -
Inappropriate?Yea. It's been over an hour since I installed and I've gotten nothing from Twitter or facebook
I’m indifferent
-
I followed the directions in the thread you linked. I'm not getting error messages. It's just that there's no updates on facebook or twitter -
Hello, sorry for the delay. What kind of computer are you using, and what accurate release of Firefox are you using ? We discovered that some early Firefox 3.0.X have issues.
So here are 2 things you can try:
- upgrade to Firefox 3.5*
- uninstall Yoono, restart Firefox, and install Yoono from www.yoono.com in order to get the last release.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Today I've installed latest version of Yoono (7.0.6) and Twitter stopped working. I've then tried to remove and then add again my Twitter account but all I got is message "The service Twitter didn't reply correctly...". Older Yoono version worked fine with Twitter. Please help!
-
I'm having the same problem with Twitter, FriendFeed and LinkedIn. AIM, Facebook and GTalk all work fine, though. -
Hi Ben. Are you new to Yoono? Running the latest version? What errors are you seeing? -
Hello Matko and Ben, did you try to install Yoono 7.0.9 from www.yoono.com (only) ? Did it solve the issue ? thanks -
Thanks!!! Yoono 7.0.9 solved the issue. Twitter is working great again. :) -
Wonderful Mako, thanks for the update ! -
Inappropriate? When I try to connect to Twitter it does not give me the option to Accept or Deny it just goes straight to denying the connection with Yoono, is there a way to fix this?

Inappropriate?Tried all versions i could find (7.0.6, 7.1.0, 7.1.2 beta 1) on my firefox portable 3.6. I was working before, but had to format my USB.
I had the 7.1 beta back then with firefox 3.6 portable. Worked like a charm...
Now it just refuses to work..
I’m sad
-
Just submitted two reports using the debug function. Forgot the begin in the first report, second should have the entire process in it. -
I did downgrade a while back... Yoono now also refuses to connect to facebook and linkedin. Can you manually remove all data/database after uninstalling.
Maybe a completely fresh install will solve it? -
Actually, when you uninstall, it removes everything (except a few Firefox UI things that are cached, but should not be a problem here).
It might be interesting to try installing in a brand new Firefox profile:
To create a new firefox profile, modify the shortcut that launches firefox to add "-P test"
In the shortcut properties window, the target field will look like that :
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox DEV\firefox.exe" -P test
Launch firefox, install Yoono in it, and let me know.
Sorry if it's a bit complicated...
Let me know. -
Using a new profile worked! Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin all connected ok... Isn't there a way to reset the database in this profile... have a lot of other plugins and settings here...
p.s. for more info on the portable version i'm using look at portableapps.com -
Wow. Very interesting!
here is what you can try : uninstall Yoono from your main profile. Restart Firefox to complete uninstallation, and open the page about:yoono. At its top, your profile path is displayed. Open a Windows Explorer in that directory, then close firefox. In the profile directory, add .bak to the names of the files compreg.dat and extensions.cache
Restart Firefox, and re-install Yoono
Let me know.
If this does not work, it could also be another plugin interaction...
Thanks for your patience! -
about:yoono didn't open after uninstall (seems logical ;-)) but knew where the profile dir was, so renamed the files there. Reinstalled 7.1.2 but no result...
Other plugins i have is Xmarks 3.5.7 and AdBlock Plus 1.1.3
I'll reinstall my firefox portable and wil try again with the same plugins installed. -
Inappropriate?oops sorry about the about:yoono page :)
Thanks for trying all this, let me know -
After removing my firefox portable (and by this also the profile and data folders) and reinstalling everything it seems to be working ok again... still no clue on why... Installed xmarks and adblockplus prior to installing yoono, so this doesn't seem like the problem.... But it works again!
Issue is probably somewhere in the stored data of firefox... hope my bug report can help you in your search a bit. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for this information that might prove very useful to other users!
-
Couple questions:
- Are you able to sign in to Twitter.com?
- Do you have a proxy or firewall set up?
- Did a previous version of Yoono work for you or is this a new install?
Thanks! -
-Yes, I can sign in to twitter.com, I can connect via Echofon and via Twitbin without any problem.
-I do have a firewall (built in mac firewall), but I didn't change any setting prior to the problem. I tried to turn the firewall off, nothing happened.
-it worked for about 1 week no problem. then the computer went to sleep and after Yoono didn't connect anymore. I reinstalled the latest version (7 I think) just 3 hours ago. Running Firefox 3.6 osx 10.5.7 -
Inappropriate? Thanks jasenjaz for the info, sorry you're seeing this issue on your end. Given the info you provided, the best thing you can do to help us is to run a debug version and send us a log file to see if it might contain data that will help us diagnose the issue. Would appreciate it if you could do that - here's how:
1. Go to the post linked below and install the debug version
2. Try to connect to Twitter once you're set up running debug, observe the problem
3. Follow the instructions to send us your log file
Here's the post with the details:
http://support.yoono.com/yoono/topics... -
Followed your instructions, run debugger, sent log. I hope it helps solve the issue.I have to move to another software in the meanwhile. Still no luck in connecting to twitter. Thanks for the help, I'll keep following the situation. Thanks for the great support anyway.Keep rocking dudes, it's a great piece of software. -
Hi Jasenjaz,
have you tried shutting firefox down (not just the window, the full application) and then restart it ? -
Hi, yes I did completely shut down firefox. Since my last post I also tried to reinstall firefox and Yoono.Still no luck in making it work. -
