Yoono Desktop Edit Box Failure.
If I have a Yoono browser window open when I'm typing a post in FB, if I hit backspace, Yoono Desktop jumps between previous apps I've opened, instead of backspacing in the current message's edit box.

Inappropriate?Hi there. Sorry if I'm a bit confused here and will try to see if I understand the issue correctly.
So you have Yoono Desktop open and the Yoono Desktop "browser"
You are updating Facebook via Yoono Desktop and if you hit backspace, Yoono desktop switches to another application?
Sorry if you could be a bit more specific that would be hepful.
-
Inappropriate?OK, I'm using Yoono Desktop, and I click on a link, which opens in Yoono Desktop, rather than in Firefox. When I attempt to type a reply to the link I clicked on, make a typo, and hit backspace to edit the typo, Yoono doesn't backspace in the edit box. Instead, it acts as if I had hit the left arrow in the top left corner of the Yoono Desktop "browser". Does that help?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? It does. I must first say that Yoono Desktop is in beta so any issues we are filing and working on resolving.
I can see how this would cause issues. My only advice at this time is to close the browser window and then reply to avoid the wrong keystroke being entered.
Sorry for the issue but this is my only solution at this time. If in testing you find a way to avoid this happening please let me know.
-
Inappropriate? Thanks. That's kind of what I figured would be the way to deal with it.
Is there a better way to file those beta issues than through here, though?
I’m thankful
-
This is certainly the best way to do so. We use this for reporting and recording of feature requests and bugs. Thank you much for taking the time! -
Inappropriate?frustrated as it should be a simple fix; really great tool and this should not happen. I open the page in a browser to get around it, but hope it is fixed soon. (o;

Well, we have quite a few items in the pipeline. I've passed this thread to the team. -
Inappropriate?Hello Adam,
Any timeline as to when these items in the pipeline will be fixed? Also, I noticed with google's it isn't compatible with it.
I’m Thankful for the reply and information received.
-
I'm sorry, we can't give you any timeline because we were not able to reproduce this problem yet.
What is your operating system (windows, OS X, linux ?).
Thanks -
I'm not sure about Eric's system, but as the original reporter, I'm running it on XP Pro w/SP3. And I'm still having the original problem. I've been forced to use the Firefox addon, rather than the desktop app, due to this problem. -
ok thanks, that helps by ruling out some possible OS influence! -
Inappropriate?I have the problem both in Vista and XP, hope this helps...

Inappropriate?Lemmie set this straight... So IF i press backspace with a webpage in focus within yoono desktop, the browser goes back one page. This seems like a decent shortcut (albeit alt + leftarrow is the standard). Yoono is SUPPOSED to do this right?
ok...
my xp install of yoono desptop has the exact problem Church mentioned. So far it ONLY occurs in fb comment/edit boxes NOT fb input fields. Even if i press 'backspace' in, for example, a google search text box, this problem DOES NOT happen. If i press backspace for example, on fb edit profile from just a regular input field box (not one of those cute animated edit boxes) backspace works just fine as well.
So...
IF:
yonoo is programmed to recognize the difference between typing into an input field, or just looking at a page, and adjusts the function of the backspace key accordingly.
THEN:
facebook edit boxes aren't being recognized as input fields to a small few of us.
(if this is true just change the shortcut to a different button what's wrong with alt+leftwarrow?)
Btw, this problem DOES NOT happen on my windows 7 laptop either.
I’m doing your work for you :P
-
Inappropriate? Thanks for this very accurate analysis of the problem.
However, as stated before, I do not get this problem at all, which is why we are unable to fix it so far :(
Have you tried our desktop beta release ?
http://static.yoono.com/download/desk...
Sorry for the delay and thanks for your patience...

Inappropriate?aw ty man. and wait a mintue, i think i made an oversight.
this seems to happen in the "share" box on fb (within your browser) but not in a comment box.
and i'll grab the beta... -
Inappropriate?no, sorry. im new to fb, its the status box i guess..? there's a huge button that says share in blue there tho.
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate?Oh but this is the 'share' button of the facebook page itself!
Sorry for the misunderstanding!!
Ok, now I see the problem, and it's pretty bad, I must admit.
I'll keep you posted with our investigation results.
Thanks for your help. -
Inappropriate? The new release (1.6.1) of the desktop app on www.yoono.com now fixes this problem.
(sorry, the button still says beta but it's not)
